Biography
Olly Murs is the 25 year old X Factor 2009 favourite from Carraways in Witham, Essex. The former energy adviser first auditioned for the X Factor in 2008 but didn’t make the grade. However, Olly managed to find success the second time around when he blew Simon Cowell away with an amazing rendition of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Superstition’. His performace led to Simon describing Olly as “very, very, very cool” and Cheryl dubbing him as “a natural born entertainer”. All judges sent Olly through to Boot Camp with Simon giving the “easiest yes I have ever given”.
A former centre forward with his local footy club, Witham Town Football Club, Olly is no stranger to the TV – he once appeared on Noel Edmond’s Deal or No Deal where he managed to scoop … £10! If he gets this one right, Olly will be on his way to a cool £1m recording deal with Simon Cowell’s record label.
Joining Olly in the X Factor finals are:
Jamie ‘Afro’ Archer, Danyl Johnson, Lucie Jones, Stacey Solomon, Rachel Adedeji, Miss Frank, Kandy Rain, John and Edward, Lloyd Daniels, Joseph McElderry and Rikki Loney.
